In July Ukraine reduced the production of steel by 1,9% compared to the same month in 2019. The country took the 12th position in international comparisons.
This fact is stated by the latest data of the global ranking provided by World Steel that consists of 64 countries producing steel.
In July global steel discharge amounted to 152,7 mln tonnes, which is 2,5% less compared to July 2019. Coronavirus pandemics is the reason for this.
China increased production of steel by 9,1%, which is up to 93,4 mln tones. Japan reduced melting by 27,9%, up to 6 mln tones.
The USA reduced steel production by 29,4%, up to 5,2 mln tones in July.
Germany reduced steel discharge by 24, 7%, up to 2,4 mln tones. Turkey increased steel production by 7,4%, up to 3,1 mln tones.
It should be mentioned that global steel production increased by 3,4% in 2019 compared to 2018. Ukraine reduced steel discharge by 1,2%, which is up to 20,8 mln tones in 2019.
